Sweaty Beard is a Welschriesling from the signature Bogatin vineyard. After harvesting, the grapes were left to macerate for ten days. The wine was then aged for six months in a concrete egg, followed by a further twelve months in a wooden barrel. The process gave the wine its depth, complexity, and a distinctive character.
Even its deep amber-yellow colour reveals the influence of maceration. The complex aroma intertwines floral (linden, white flowers), herbal (chamomile, eucalyptus), and delicate balsamic notes, which carry over into the rich, nuanced palate. The lively acidity keeps the wine vibrant, offering an excellent potential for further ageing. This is a unique wine with a distinctive character, perfect for when you’re looking for something truly special in your glass.
